think about this: $20.00 for launch $20.00 for gas and oil for boat $20.00 for gas for truck $10.00 for bait $10.00 for breakfast ---------- $80.00 just to give it a try
if you go 10 times to equal the pass cost you will have spent $800.00 just on perch. this does not include any other type of fishing that you do.

Popeye,
Usually they are within 3 miles -- but, sometimes those perch are in 65 FOW off of Lake Forest.

Well, those Perch are safe from me. Can't say that I've ever gone past the Navy Base for salmon, let alone Perches

Since it is not the boating season, will those driveway gates be open for access to the parking lot by the main building?

The gates have been open everytime I've been down there. I don't think they start closing them untill after the slipholders are in.

Someone mentioned launching at the Naval Base. Can anyone help me out on the details of launching there?

First, you need to be either active duty military or retired military to access the Navy Base and the ramp there, or, you need to have someone that has access to the base bring you. That being said, the ramp is in extreme disrepair. There is several feet of sediment on the ramp and the Navy will not remove it because it is too expensive because it is contaminated with PCB's. I tried to launch a bass boat there last year and could not get the bottom of the hull wet without having my front tires in the water. As I do not have a 4x4, I will not be using that ramp until such time as it gets dredged out.

So Lori called and got the meeting canceled so she wouldn't have to give away so much free chili. Just gave myself a stupid look because I realized that I drove back from the Navy Base today, just about 12:30. Fixed me a nice Peanut butter and jelly sammich for lunch when I got home. I could've have a burry-toe and some chili...
