I am trying to put together a fishing crew that would like to fish in the SU Tournaments this year. I am going to send in my SU dues. The boat will be in the water at the Base Marina, but can put it on the trailer as well. I have my fishing buddy from last year but he can not make all of the dates. This will be my second year on the big water and want to do some serious fishing this year. If you are interested, shoot me a PM and we can figure it out. I hope to have the boat ready for the water the first or second week of March for some early trout fishing.

My company, Thermalcraft, is changing our sponsorship this season for SU Club tournaments to a $100 payout at every event for the team fishing the tournament in a boat 24ft or shorter with the most points. You'd still be able to win big fish or even win the whole tournament, but since it's been awhile since a smaller boat has won one of our club events I'd like to encourage more small boats to fish and have a good chance at winning something. So, I don't know how long your boat is, but to you or anyone in a smaller boat, this just sweetens the pot for you.

I can not make the meeting tomorrow as I can not get out of work But, I have it on my calendar for next month and am looking forward to going. I have a 24.5' Four Winns Vista. I need to find a way to take off 7" it sounds like . I am looking forward to getting on the water to catch some fish. If I get more then 4 thus year I will be happy. Haha

I put in at the base also. I have a 22' Islander. grew up in Benton Harbor/St. Joe Mi. Spent many hours on the Lake with my Dad. Got out of it it as i spent 24yrs in the Navy. Look forward to see you down there and possibly head out together. My boat is Blue and white and i trailer it.

I am sure I will see you down there. The boat is blue and white as well. I have been in 14 and used to go down to the stock damn as a kid back in SD and caught bull head. I did some salmon fishing from shore when I was in Whidbey Island WA. I caought a couple on the lake last year on a dipsy/flasher/fly but nothing to brag about. I am looking at setting up some riggers this year. Let me know when you would like to head out sometime.

You said it will be in the water at the Base Marina, I assume you are talking about Great Lakes Naval Base, am I correct. If you are waiting on the boat, and you new partner is not retired military, how is he going to access the base?

Yes, the boat will be at Great Lakes Navy Marina. I can ether pick them up at Waukegan Marina as that is where I would get gas or even bait, or we meet off base and I take them to the base.
